1. Introduction
Welcome to PrismOCR ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website PrismOCR and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
🛡️ Local Processing Guarantee
PrismOCR is a "Local-First" application. Unlike traditional OCR services, we do not upload your documents, images, or PDFs to any cloud server for processing. All Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is performed entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly technology. Your sensitive documents never leave your device's memory.
2. Information We Collect

We do not ask for or collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to use the core features of our service.

We may use standard analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to collect anonymous information about how visitors use our site. This may include:
- Browser type and version
- Time and date of your visit
- Time spent on specific pages
- Referring website addresses
3. Advertising and Cookies
We do not use cookies or show advertisements on this website. The project is entirely free to use and does not track your behavior for advertising purposes.
4. Local Storage

5. International Compliance (UK, EU & US)
UK & EU Users (GDPR)
We operate in compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Since PrismOCR processes files strictly locally on your device ("client-side processing"), we act as the provider of the software tool, while you remain the Data Controller of any personal data contained within your documents. We do not have access to, nor do we store, any of the data you process.
US Users (CCPA/CalOPPA)
We comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and CalOPPA. We do not sell your personal data.
